To aid in streamlining procurement, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support and maintenance, the District has established a design standard for telecommunications systems throughout the Solano Community College District. These standards are intended to ensure a consistent level of quality, reliability, and maintainability for all new construction, upgrades, and renovation projects involving telecommunications infrastructure.
The telecommunications design standard also serves as a supporting document to the Strategic Technology Plan, Facilities Master Plan, and other district‑level planning documents. Any deviations from this standard must be reviewed and approved by Solano Community College. The standards will be reviewed at least annually and updated as needed.
